Mayor Eric Adams and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman met to discuss collaboration on public safety and other issues.

Some folks were surprised to see them together, thinking Adams might be looking for a presidential pardon. But his press secretary said they didn’t discuss Trump at all.
They were joined by lawyer Howard Fensterman, who helped set up the meeting. The main topic was how the city and Nassau County can tackle violent gangs together.
A photo shared on social media showed the two politicians smiling at their table. Adams drove from Albany after attending Governor Hochul’s “State of the State” address.
The dinner lasted about two hours and had been in the works for a week. Adams, who’s a vegan but sometimes eats fish, ordered branzino and a salad. Blakeman kept it light with chicken paillard and a salad.
Adams is facing a tough re-election campaign this year amid a federal bribery indictment, which he denies. Blakeman is also up for re-election and is expected to win. He’s even been mentioned as a possible candidate for governor in 2026.
