San Francisco: So, Mark Zuckerberg recently had a chat with Joe Rogan, and wow, he really opened up about his views on masculinity. He’s not a fan of what he calls “culturally neutered” corporate vibes. Instead, he’s all about embracing “masculine energy.”

During their talk, Zuckerberg pointed out that while it’s great to create a welcoming environment, he thinks labeling masculinity as “toxic” is a bit much. He believes we’ve swung too far in that direction.

Interestingly, he shared that growing up with sisters and now having daughters has shaped his perspective. He wants women to thrive but doesn’t think it should come at the expense of masculinity.

Zuckerberg credits martial arts for helping him see the positive side of aggression. He mentioned that having a space to spar with his male friends has been a great experience for him.

He feels that a culture that celebrates a bit of aggression can actually be beneficial. This conversation came right when Meta decided to end its DEI programs, which is pretty significant.

In a memo, Meta’s HR VP mentioned that the term “DEI” has become charged and suggests some groups get preferential treatment. They’re also making some changes to their policies, like removing tampons from men’s restrooms.

Zuckerberg also talked about how Meta is shifting away from strict fact-checking policies, saying it’s time to focus on free expression again. He admitted there’s been too much censorship and criticized fact-checkers for being biased.

It seems like Meta is not alone in this shift. Other big companies are also rethinking their diversity programs, especially after the recent political climate. It’s a big change, and it’ll be interesting to see where it all leads.
