Mark Hamill shares relief as his Malibu house survives the Palisades Fire, while many others were not as fortunate
Hamill thanked everyone who reached out to check on him, saying, “Amazingly enough… it did.” He also expressed his sympathy for those who lost their homes, saying, “Together, we will get through this! ❤️.”
Fans flooded the comments with support, with one saying, “Mark, so glad your home was spared.” Another joked, “The force is with you, Luke.”
Hamill had to evacuate quickly, facing small fires on both sides of the road as he made his way to safety. He and his wife, Marilou, along with their dog, Trixie, found refuge at their daughter Chelsea’s place in Hollywood.
He described the fire as the “most horrific” he’s seen since ’93. On Friday night, he shared a nighttime photo of LA County engulfed in flames, expressing his shock at the devastation.
The Palisades Fire is now the most destructive in LA’s history, burning over 23,000 acres and only 11% contained. Other fires in the area have also caused significant damage, leading to at least 16 deaths and displacing nearly 200,000 people.
Many celebrities have lost their homes, including Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal, while others like Britney Spears and Ben Affleck evacuated but their homes remain intact. The cause of these fires is still under investigation.
