Manchester United may need to make two changes for their match against Southampton due to player suspensions and injuries
Ruben Amorim, the head coach, usually likes to make five substitutions. In that intense match against Arsenal, he ended up putting Lisandro Martinez up front and had Toby Collyer playing right wing back. Collyer came on in the 81st minute and really made an impression, even though they were down to ten men.
This was actually Collyer’s fourth game for the team, and he hadn’t played since September due to an injury. Amorim mentioned that Collyer has been training well and has a lot of pace, making him a solid option for the upcoming match.
Interestingly, Collyer might consider leaving if a good offer comes in this month. But given how well he played against Arsenal and the current midfield situation, he might stick around for the rest of the season.
Both Eriksen and Casemiro are likely to leave United soon, as they’re both turning 33 next month. Eriksen might be released when his contract ends in the summer unless he’s sold in January.
Collyer signed a new deal until 2027 last summer and was well-liked by the previous manager, Erik ten Hag. He joined from Brighton in March 2022 and made his debut in the Community Shield against Manchester City.
