Manchester: So, it looks like Arsenal is about to pull off a big signing that’s going to sting Manchester United and Man City. They’re in talks to bring in Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for around £51 million.

The Daily Mail says the Gunners are pretty far along in negotiations, and it sounds like they might have a deal almost wrapped up. Mikel Arteta is keen to add another midfielder from Spain after already bringing in one last window.

Liverpool had their eyes on Zubimendi too, but he turned them down last year. Now, Arsenal wants him this month, but Sociedad wants him to stick around until the season wraps up.

Both United and City were interested in the 25-year-old last summer. United was looking to boost their midfield options, and Zubimendi was on their radar. City also considered him after Rodri got injured, but it seems they’re not expecting to land him this month.

In North London, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Jorginho are both out of contract soon, which has ramped up their interest in Zubimendi. The transfer window closes on February 3, and clubs will be looking to make moves for next season starting in mid-June.
