Yellow Springs: A tragic incident unfolded when a woman called the police for a welfare check after seeing a shooting on her home camera. Sadly, one person is dead, and another is facing serious charges.

Frederick Dane Muenchau-Peterson, just 22, has been charged with two counts of murder, along with other serious offenses. The court records reveal the gravity of the situation.

It all started around 11 p.m. on January 10. The woman, who was out of town, got alerts from her camera system and immediately called the Yellow Springs police about her husband.

According to the affidavit, she saw her stepson, Muenchau-Peterson, on her porch firing shots into the house. She tried reaching her husband but couldn’t get through.

After the shooting, Muenchau-Peterson left the scene on foot, and the woman couldn’t tell where he went. Police arrived to find bullet holes in the window and a person lying on the floor inside.

Medics declared the victim dead at the scene, but his identity hasn’t been released yet. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now involved to help with the case.

Muenchau-Peterson was later arrested by Fairborn police. During questioning, he admitted to firing the gun and even recognized himself in the surveillance footage. He reportedly said, “This was one of the worst things he has done.”
