Orlando: So, it looks like Franz Wagner is getting closer to returning! The Magic upgraded his injury status from a torn abdominal muscle to “return to competition reconditioning.” That’s a good sign, right?

He’s been out since December 6, which is a bummer, especially since All-Star Paolo Banchero had a similar injury earlier this season. But hey, it seems like Wagner’s return might be just around the corner.

Banchero was out for a while too, but he came back after a couple of weeks. Wagner hasn’t missed as many games, but he’s still got a few hurdles to clear.

Coach Jamahl Mosley mentioned that Wagner participated in a non-contact practice, which is a step in the right direction. Wagner himself said he feels good and is just focusing on getting back in shape.

There are a few other players dealing with injuries too. Gary Harris and Jett Howard practiced but are still questionable for the game. Meanwhile, Goga Bitadze and Jalen Suggs didn’t practice at all, with Suggs out for his sixth straight game.

Despite all these injuries, Mosley praised his coaching staff and players for their effort. The Magic have managed to stay competitive, sitting fourth in the East.

As for the upcoming game against the Bucks, it’ll be interesting to see how they adjust with Banchero back on the court. The Magic lost a close one to Milwaukee last week, so they’ll be looking for a win this time around.
