A former Christmas tree lot in Logan Square will soon become a 38-unit apartment building, with plans approved by the City Council.
SNS Realty Group is stepping in to build a five-story structure with 38 units. Out of those, eight will be affordable. Plus, there will be 19 parking spots and space for 38 bikes.
The layout includes 17 two-bedroom and 21 one-bedroom apartments. The design has been tweaked a bit to address community feedback, focusing on things like height and landscaping.
The new building will have a modern look, similar to other recent constructions in the area. This project has been in the works for two years, evolving from an earlier plan for 36 units.
Local resident La Spata expressed strong support for the project, noting the thoughtful planning that went into it. He mentioned he would likely pass by the building daily and appreciates the community involvement.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first attempt to develop the site. Another company had plans for a smaller building but dropped out due to zoning issues.
