Orlando: It’s a real bummer that the Fringe ArtSpace is shutting down. I went to the Orlando Fringe FestN4 last Friday, which is a smaller version of the big festival. It was my first time at this mini-fest, and I loved it. The vibe is always unpredictable, but you know your ticket money goes straight to the artists.

It’s such a shame because Orlando has so much talent. The news about the venue closing next month hit hard. The city has big plans to revamp downtown, especially on Church Street, aiming to make it a fun, family-friendly festival street. So, why not keep the Fringe ArtSpace alive as part of that vision?

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said that great art should be accessible to everyone. Now’s not the time to cut arts funding. We need the creativity and stories from our local artists. That’s what makes our community unique.

Switching gears, AI is changing how teachers do their jobs. Education has been all about memorization, but with AI, why bother? The Longshoremen’s pushback against AI is just the start. Instead of resisting, we should rethink education. Kids need to learn how to use AI creatively, not just memorize facts.

Einstein said imagination is more important than knowledge. Teachers should focus on challenging knowledge instead of just passing it down. It’s a tough job, but it’s crucial for the future.

And about Social Security, while I support President Biden, I don’t get how he can justify speeding up its insolvency with new benefits for some workers. We all deserve equal benefits. Trump’s promise to make Social Security tax-free might help in the short term, but we need a real solution to the insolvency issue. Let’s get serious about this!
