Leslie Charleson, known for her role on ‘General Hospital,’ has died at 79 after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of love and talent.

Frank Valentini, the executive producer of “General Hospital,” shared the news, expressing his sorrow over the loss of his dear friend. He highlighted her nearly 50-year legacy on the show and how she was a beloved figure among the cast and crew.
While the exact cause of her death wasn’t disclosed, it was noted that she had experienced several falls in recent years, which affected her mobility. Just last week, she had been hospitalized after one of these falls.
Leslie joined “General Hospital” in 1977 and became a staple of the show, appearing in over 2,000 episodes. Although she transitioned to a recurring role in 2010, she continued to be a familiar face until her last appearance in December 2023.
Born on February 22, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, Leslie began her acting career at a young age. She made her soap debut in 1964 and went on to star in various shows before landing her iconic role.
Throughout her career, she appeared in numerous popular TV series and even had a memorable role on “Happy Days.” Leslie’s character, Monica, faced many challenges, including marriages and health battles, earning her several Daytime Emmy nominations.
In her later years, she also made guest appearances on shows like “Friends” and “Dharma & Greg.” Leslie Charleson will be remembered for her incredible talent and the warmth she brought to her roles.
