A Las Vegas police officer was arrested for pointing a gun at his wife and her new partner amid their divorce proceedings
Las Vegas: A police officer named Robert Bell was arrested after he pointed a gun at his wife and a man she was seeing. This happened while they were going through a divorce.
Bell, who has been with the Metro Police since 1999, went to his wife’s house on February 2 last year. They were living apart as they worked on their divorce, which was finalized in August.
When he found his wife with another man, he pointed his gun at them and told her to “get out of the line of fire.” She didn’t listen, so he pretended to call 911 to scare them.
He then told the man to leave and walked him out. The guy didn’t even have shoes on, and Bell kept his gun holstered the whole time.
Interestingly, Bell had his own affair with a woman he met at the Clark County Detention Center. That woman was the wife of the man he confronted at his home.
Both men were dealing with their own divorces, which made the situation even messier. Later, during court proceedings, Bell’s wife claimed he had held her at gunpoint, but he denied it, saying he only had the gun in a low position.
After 28 years of marriage, Bell is now facing serious charges, including domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. He’s been suspended with pay while the investigation continues and is set to appear in court on January 22.
