Kohl’s Is Closing 27 Stores Across the U.S. Here’s the List

Madison: Kohl’s is making some big changes. They’re closing 27 stores that just aren’t cutting it anymore. This is all set to happen by April.

The company, based in Wisconsin, has over 1,150 stores nationwide. But lately, sales have been pretty disappointing. The former CEO, Tom Kingsbury, even mentioned it last quarter before stepping down.

These closures are just a small part of their overall store count. Kingsbury said they need to make tough choices to keep the business healthy and growing.

Along with the store closures, they’re also shutting down an e-commerce fulfillment center in California. It’s been around for 15 years, but newer centers are taking over.

For employees at the affected stores, there’s some good news. They can apply for other jobs within the company or take a severance package if they prefer.
