New York: The Knicks are having a bit of an identity crisis this season. They’re sitting at 26-15, which is pretty solid, and they’re third in the Eastern Conference. But after a tough loss to the Thunder, people are wondering if they really belong among the top teams.

They’ve got some star power with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, plus a couple of great defenders. But then they lost to the Pistons after a nice win against the Bucks, showing just how up and down their season has been.

Coach Tom Thibodeau was asked if they’re still looking for a defensive identity, and it’s a fair question. They’ve got a decent record, but it’s not enough to feel safe from the play-in tournament. Their defense is okay, but it’s not consistent, especially in tight games.

So, who are the Knicks really? They’re still trying to figure that out as they gear up for their next game against the 76ers. Some days they look like contenders, and other days, not so much. With a tough schedule ahead, they’ve got a lot of chances to prove themselves or risk slipping down the standings.
