New York: So, Karl-Anthony Towns stirred the pot a bit on Wednesday night. He showed up in a green Eagles sweater while chilling on the bench during the Knicks’ game against the 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.

Towns, who hails from Edison, N.J., has always been open about his love for the Eagles, no matter what NBA team he’s with. Back in 2018, he even shared his support for the Eagles on social media when they made their Super Bowl run.

He’s a die-hard Eagles fan, and he’s not shy about it. When asked about the backlash, he shrugged it off, saying he just wants to be true to himself. “I got to be myself,” he said. “I’m always going to stay loyal to my team.”

Even though he was sidelined with an injury, some Knicks fans were not having it. They took to social media to express their disbelief. One fan even suggested he should be fined for wearing Eagles gear on the Knicks bench.

But not everyone was upset. Jalen Brunson, another Eagles fan, defended Towns during the game, saying he was totally cool with it. Towns is currently day-to-day with his injuries but is expected to be back on the court soon.
