The 2025 New Year Honours list celebrates celebrities and everyday heroes for their contributions to society and various fields
London: As the year wraps up, King Charles has unveiled the New Year Honours list for 2025. This is the third list since his coronation in 2023, and it highlights those who’ve made a positive impact this year.
Alongside everyday heroes, the list features a bunch of well-known faces from various fields, including actors, musicians, and sports stars.
Over 1,200 individuals from the UK have been honoured, receiving MBEs, OBEs, and CBEs. The oldest recipient is a remarkable 103 years old, while the youngest are just 18.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer expressed gratitude, saying, “Every day, ordinary people do extraordinary things for their communities. They embody the best of the UK, and this list celebrates those unsung heroes.”
Among the notable names, Stephen Fry is set to be knighted. He was thrilled to hear the news, especially for his work in mental health and charity.
Gareth Southgate, the former England manager, has also been knighted for his contributions to football, leading the team to several finals.
