The King’s New Year Honours list celebrates incredible individuals from Greater Manchester for their outstanding contributions across various fields
Manchester: The King’s New Year Honours list for 2025 is out, and it’s packed with amazing people from Greater Manchester. From sports stars to community heroes, they’re all being recognized for their hard work.
Take Sarah Lancashire, for instance. This talented actress from Urmston, who grew up in Oldham, snagged a CBE for her contributions to drama. And let’s not forget David Moyes, the former Manchester United manager, who received an OBE. How cool is that?
Then there’s Keely Hodgkinson, the athlete from Atherton who just won gold in the 800 meters at the Paris Olympics. She’s now got an MBE to add to her accolades. It’s a big deal!
