Joy Behar challenges Carrie Underwood’s patriotism for performing at Trump’s inauguration, sparking debate on artistic freedom and political support.

New York: Joy Behar from “The View” took a jab at Carrie Underwood for agreeing to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration. She questioned how Underwood could claim to love America while supporting someone she views as harmful.
Behar expressed her confusion, saying, “How do you love your country and support a convicted felon who wants to destroy it?” She made it clear she wouldn’t perform at the inauguration herself.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin defended Underwood, pointing out that many Americans voted for Trump and love their country. Behar acknowledged the importance of free speech but reiterated her personal stance against performing at the event.
Sunny Hostin respected Underwood’s choice, emphasizing that artists have the right to perform wherever they wish. Whoopi Goldberg also supported Underwood, saying people have their reasons for their decisions.
Underwood stated she feels “honored” to perform “America the Beautiful” at the inauguration, expressing a desire for unity during a challenging time. Her representative hasn’t commented on Behar’s remarks yet.
Other performers at the inauguration include Lee Greenwood and the Village People, who believe music should transcend politics.
