Aaron Glenn, a top coaching candidate, prefers the Jets for his next role, boosting their chances in the ongoing coaching search.

But, you know how these things go—coaching searches can change quickly. Glenn has also been linked to the Saints, where he played and coached before heading to Detroit. At 52, he’s been busy interviewing with several teams, including the Jets, Saints, Bears, Jaguars, and Raiders. Interestingly, he passed on the Patriots job, which went to Mike Vrabel after New England let go of Jerod Mayo.
Last season, the Lions’ defense was pretty solid, allowing just 20.1 points per game. The Jets have been interviewing a bunch of candidates, including their former coach Rex Ryan and others like Brian Flores and Joe Brady. They didn’t reach out to Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, though, as they don’t think he’s the right fit.
To help with the search, the Jets brought in former GM Mike Tannenbaum and ex-Vikings GM Rick Spielman after they fired Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas during the season. It’s a busy time for the Jets as they look to find the right leader for their team.
