Cincinnati: Recently, President Biden declared that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) is now “the law of the land.” This didn’t sit well with everyone, especially Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Vance took to X to poke fun at Biden, suggesting that if the president is making fake declarations, he should also declare Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame. Vance quipped, “Hey Joe if we’re doing fake s–t on the way out can you declare Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame? See you in two days!”

For those who don’t know, Pete Rose was banned from Major League Baseball for life back in 1989 for betting on games, including those involving the Cincinnati Reds, the team he managed. Despite his impressive career, which includes three World Series titles and the record for most hits in MLB history, his betting scandal has kept him out of the Hall of Fame, sparking endless debates among fans.

Biden’s claim about the ERA being part of the Constitution has also faced backlash. He cited the American Bar Association, saying the amendment has cleared all necessary hurdles. However, the National Archives disagrees, and many on social media were quick to call out the president, with some even labeling him a “dictator.”

The ERA aims to guarantee equal rights under the law for all Americans, regardless of sex, and was pushed forward by New York Democrats in response to the Supreme Court’s decision on abortion rights in 2022. It’s a hot topic, and Vance’s jab just adds fuel to the fire.
