JD Vance, the Vice President-elect, humorously suggested he might skip the inauguration to watch Ohio State play in the College Football Playoff title game.
Now, Ohio State is set to face Notre Dame in the national championship game later this month. Vance is super excited and wants to be there to cheer them on.
But here’s the catch: the inauguration is on January 20, the same day as the title game. Vance joked on social media, saying, “Hopefully everyone is cool with me skipping the inauguration so I can go to the national title game.”
He even shared a meme showing his two choices: attend his own inauguration or watch the Buckeyes win. Tough choice, right?
The Buckeyes are looking to snag their first national title since 2014 after beating Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Meanwhile, Notre Dame is aiming for its 12th title and first since 1988 after defeating Penn State in the Orange Bowl.
So, while Trump is getting sworn in, Vance will be rooting for Ohio State. It’s a wild time for him, for sure!
