Washington: JD Vance recently shared that Trump plans to pardon those who protested peacefully on January 6, 2021, but not the violent rioters. He believes many were treated unfairly by the justice system.
Vance emphasized that if you were peaceful that day, you deserve a pardon. He made it clear that those who committed violence shouldn’t expect the same treatment. He acknowledged some gray areas in between.
After facing criticism, Vance clarified that Trump’s approach of reviewing each case isn’t a backtrack on promises. He pointed out that over 1,500 people have faced charges since the Capitol incident, with many convicted.
Vance also discussed the wildfires in California, expressing his heartbreak over the destruction. He criticized the state’s governance, saying it contributed to the severity of the fires.
He mentioned that some reservoirs have been dry for years, which has hindered firefighting efforts. Vance and Trump have both been vocal about California’s lack of preparation for such disasters.
Vance assured that Trump is committed to improving disaster relief efforts, not just for California but for all affected areas. He believes the government should do its job effectively.
On a different note, Vance downplayed the idea of using military force in Greenland or Panama, stating that there are already troops in Greenland and emphasizing the need for proper resource management there.
He also mentioned that leaders in Greenland and Denmark have rejected Trump’s annexation ideas, highlighting the complexities of international relations.
