Ivanka Trump discusses losing acquaintances due to political differences during her father’s presidency
Washington: Ivanka Trump recently opened up about how some people walked out of her life during her dad’s presidency. She shared this on the “Skinny Confidential Him & Her” podcast.
When asked if she lost friends after moving to D.C. in 2017, she said it wasn’t really friends but more like acquaintances. Their political views were just too different from her father’s.
Ivanka mentioned that some folks got overly emotional about politics, which led to them drifting away. She wasn’t surprised, though, and felt blessed to have friends who stuck around.
She believes that politics is just a small part of life. Ivanka has friends from all over the political spectrum and sees conversations with those who disagree as chances to learn.
She’s never ended a friendship over politics and thinks it’s important to focus on the things you agree on. The friendships she kept during her dad’s time in office actually grew stronger.
Ivanka also warned her close friends that she might not be as available while working in the White House. She told them to give her some grace during that busy time.
She realized that you need to celebrate the good times too, not just be there for the tough moments. Ivanka will step back into her role as first daughter when her dad takes office again.
Some of her close friends include Kim Kardashian and Hugh Jackman, showing that her circle is quite diverse.
