Ryanair pushes for a two-drink limit at airport bars to curb unruly behavior on flights

Ryanair’s spokesperson mentioned that they already have rules on their planes to manage alcohol consumption. But they’re puzzled why there aren’t similar rules at the airport bars. They suggest using boarding passes to track how many drinks a person buys, just like with duty-free shopping.
Currently, there’s no official limit on how much you can drink at airports. In the UK, bars can serve drinks at any time, which is a bit wild. However, airlines can refuse boarding if someone is too drunk. Some airports even have guidelines to help staff spot intoxicated customers.
Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, has been vocal about this issue. He’s even said he’d support a two-drink limit on flights if it also applied to airport bars. This comes after they started legal action against disruptive passengers, aiming to recover costs from incidents that forced flight diversions.
In the UK, being drunk on a plane is a serious offense. You could face hefty fines or even jail time for causing trouble. So, it’s clear that Ryanair is trying to tackle this issue head-on, hoping to make flying a safer experience for everyone.
