Icy conditions on rural roads lead to multiple school closures in Middle Tennessee following a significant winter storm over the weekend

Schools and businesses shut down Friday as kids enjoyed the snow, building snowmen and sledding on whatever they could find. But now, those snowy roads are creating real hazards for school buses and families.
Many school districts decided to delay or cancel classes today because of the icy conditions. For example, Cheatham County Schools announced a two-hour delay, starting at 9:45 a.m.
Dickson County Schools are closed today due to icy back roads. They did say that some extended care sites would open at 7 a.m.
Robertson County Schools also closed, with the director informing parents about the icy roads in a recorded message. Daycares will still be open, though.
Wilson County Schools are closed as well. They found several rural roads that are still dangerous, especially in the eastern part of the county. Kids Club will still operate, and updates will come later today.
Sumner County Schools will be open as usual. As for other districts like Clarksville-Montgomery and Metro Nashville, no updates were available yet.
