Oddie’s Bakery in Lancashire is seeking new opportunities to reopen after its recent closure

This bakery has been a staple for over 100 years, known for its delicious bread and pastries. Sadly, they’ve faced tough times, especially since the Covid pandemic hit.
In November, they mentioned they were looking for a rescue deal. Now, even though the doors are closed, they’re working hard to negotiate with potential buyers.
Oddie’s shared that the pandemic and economic downturn have really hurt their business. They had to close some shops and cut back on staff, but were starting to see some recovery.
However, rising costs, especially from the energy crisis, have made things even tougher. They’re being advised by Azets and Brabners Solicitors as they navigate this challenging situation.
Founded in 1905 by William Henry Oddie, the bakery has a rich history. Bill Oddie took over in 1988, and now his daughter Lara is leading the way.
Oddie’s has been a favorite for its fresh bread and treats, even hosting a visit from Prince Charles for their 100th anniversary. Everyone is hoping for a positive outcome soon.
