A guest’s refusal to use host’s towels sparks debate over cleanliness and etiquette

But on his first day, he flooded my bathroom while showering. He said he forgot how shower curtains work. I rushed to help and used a towel to soak up the water before it spread. I tossed it in the wash right after.
He was shocked and said I should’ve used a mop instead. I mean, come on, it’s not like my bathroom is a mess. I don’t have kids or pets, and I keep the place clean.
After that, he said he couldn’t trust my towels anymore. He went out and bought his own, keeping it separate until he left. I even offered to wash it, but he turned me down.
Am I really that gross?
Honestly, why take criticism from someone who can’t even handle a shower curtain? Miss Manners thinks his attitude is ridiculous. He made the mess and then acted like my towels were dirty. He should be the one apologizing.
Sure, Miss Manners would prefer using a mop, but as a guest, she wouldn’t have said anything. It’s just rude.
