Governor Mike Braun’s new executive orders eliminate DEI initiatives and require state employees to return to in-person work.
Indianapolis: On his second day as governor, Mike Braun signed several executive orders aimed at making state government more efficient. One of the biggest changes is the closure of the DEI office, which was set up by former Governor Eric Holcomb. Braun believes that focusing on merit and excellence is the way to go.
He also mandated that all state employees return to the office by July 1. This comes after a long period of remote work due to the pandemic. Braun thinks in-person collaboration will strengthen the workforce.
Another significant change is the removal of college degree requirements for many state jobs. Braun wants to replace these with skills and experience, believing that this will attract a wider range of talent.
In addition to these changes, Braun signed several other orders aimed at improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary regulations. He’s pushing for a more streamlined government that better serves the people of Indiana.
