The Frasier revival will not return after two seasons on Paramount+, with CBS Studios seeking new homes for the series.
Kelsey Grammer, who led the show, really wanted to bring back that classic sitcom vibe. The original Frasier ran for 11 seasons and snagged a ton of awards, but this new version didn’t win any during its first season, though it did get three nominations.
It’s a bit of a bummer since CBS already has a full comedy lineup, so it’s unlikely the revival will land there. They’ve got shows like The Neighborhood and Ghosts keeping them busy. NBC, which aired the original Frasier, might be interested in reviving its classic comedy block, but who knows?
In an interview, Grammer mentioned he wanted a “sillier” take on the show and was excited about the characters. He really hoped to see where they would go next. The cast included some great talent alongside him, and they had a solid team behind the scenes, including director James Burrows, who worked on the original series.
If you’re looking to catch up, both the original Frasier and the first two seasons of the revival are still available for streaming on Paramount+.
