New York: Fox News is really killing it in the ratings game. Since Trump won the election on November 5, they’ve aired the 500 most-watched cable news shows, according to Nielsen. It’s pretty impressive!
In December alone, Fox had the top 400 cable telecasts. The only non-Fox show that made a dent was MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” which came in at 401. Talk about a clean sweep!
From November 6 to mid-January, Fox News held onto all 500 top spots for total viewers. Shows like “The Five,” “Jesse Watters Primetime,” and “Hannity” are leading the pack.
Interestingly, CNN’s “Election Day America” was the first non-Fox program to break into the top 500, landing at 507. But overall, Fox has been the go-to for news, especially for conservatives.
Fox News has been the top-rated cable news outlet for nearly 20 years, outpacing MSNBC, CNN, NewsNation, and Newsmax combined. Their influence is huge!
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott expressed pride in their team, highlighting their ability to cover major events and resonate with viewers. They’ve really solidified their position since the election.
While Fox is thriving, MSNBC and CNN have seen their ratings drop significantly. MSNBC’s viewership fell by 38%, averaging around 521,000, while CNN dropped 49% to about 367,000.
In contrast, Fox News enjoyed a 41% increase in viewership during the same time. It’s clear that the cable news landscape is shifting!
