Orlando: It was a big day for former UCF players at the Hula Bowl. Ricky Barber, a defensive tackle, made quite the return to the field.

After a month off since his last game, he was back at FBC Mortgage Stadium, and the crowd loved it. Barber made 2 tackles, 3 pressures, and even got a sack, which got everyone cheering.

He described the moment when he heard his name called out. It was special, especially when he made that big play against the former Elon quarterback. He really knew how to read the play and took advantage of it.

Barber wasn’t alone; he was joined by other UCF alumni like Kobe Hudson, Peny Boone, Amari Kight, and Gage King. They all played for Team Kai.

In the game, Memphis running back Mario Anderson scored a touchdown that helped Team Akai win 10-3. He was named MVP for his efforts, finishing with 26 yards on 6 carries.

Most of the action happened in the second quarter, with Team Kai tying the game with a field goal. But Team Aina took the lead again with another field goal and a touchdown run.

Peny Boone had a solid game too, rushing for 34 yards on 10 carries. He’s been working hard to catch the eye of NFL scouts, hoping to make it to the next level.

Boone shared that despite a tough season, he’s focused on his goal of making it to the NFL. He’s been meeting with scouts and showing off his skills all week.

Barber is also in the mix, talking to NFL teams and planning to keep training hard. It’s an exciting time for these players as they aim for their dreams.
