Alicia Arritt shares her thoughts on Livelsberger’s struggles after the tragic incident in Las Vegas

Livelsberger, a decorated Green Beret, tragically shot himself during the explosion, which also injured seven others. Arritt mentioned that he had brain injuries before his deployment but managed to cope until he returned from Afghanistan.
After that, he became withdrawn and often expressed feelings of depression. He even sent her messages about his struggles. A note from Livelsberger revealed he felt guilt over his past actions in combat.
He described the explosion as a “wake-up call,” saying it was a way to draw attention to the issues he felt were being ignored. Authorities believe he was dealing with PTSD and other personal issues.
Arritt shared that they met in 2018 and had a deep connection. He was kind to her son and enjoyed spending time with them. However, he was battling serious health problems, including severe headaches and memory issues.
Despite her encouragement, he hesitated to seek help for his mental health, fearing the stigma in the military. He received many awards for his bravery, but the pain he carried inside was overlooked.
Their relationship ended in early 2021, but they stayed in touch. Just days before the explosion, he reached out to her, but nothing seemed off in their conversations. When she heard about his death, she was completely taken aback.
Arritt had no idea he was suffering so deeply. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available 24/7 by calling or texting the Lifeline network at 988.
