A North Carolina father and son heroically rescued a deputy and his K-9 from a burning vehicle after a high-speed chase ended in a crash.
Cleveland County: A North Carolina man, Curtis Blanton, was having a tough day after saying goodbye to his wife. He and his son, Pete, were at home listening to a police scanner when they heard about a serious crash involving a deputy.
Deputy Robert Taylor was chasing four armed car thieves when he crashed into a tree, and his car caught fire. Without thinking twice, Curtis and Pete jumped into action and rushed to help.
When they got there, they found the deputy and his K-9, Thanos, trapped inside the burning vehicle. They managed to pull both to safety, showing incredible bravery. Curtis said they didn’t hesitate because they wanted to help someone who risks their life for others every day.
