Dhaurahra: Farmers in Uttar Pradesh are getting creative. They’ve started wearing bear costumes to scare off monkeys that keep raiding their fields.

This all kicked off last month when they decided enough was enough. The monkeys were wreaking havoc on their crops, and the farmers felt ignored by local officials.

So, they pooled their money to buy a bear suit and take turns wearing it while patrolling their fields. It’s a sight to see!

In a video from Lakhimpur Kheri district, you can spot a farmer in the suit, keeping watch over mustard, chickpea, wheat, and sugarcane crops.

Despite their efforts, the farmers say they’ve lodged complaints with no response from village heads or forest officials. They’re really feeling the pressure as the monkeys keep coming back.

To tackle the issue, Dudhwa Field Director Lalit Verma mentioned that they’re holding meetings to educate farmers on how to protect their crops. But for now, the bear costume seems to be their best bet!
