ETFs to Watch in 2025: Bitcoin, Cheap Beta, AI, and More Insights

New York: In a recent episode of ETF Spotlight, Eric Balchunas from Bloomberg Intelligence shared insights on the ETF landscape for 2025. The past year was huge for ETFs, especially with the launch of the first spot Bitcoin ETFs after a long wait.

The iShares Bitcoin Trust, known as IBIT, has already pulled in over $53 billion, making it a record-breaking launch. With a supportive administration, we might see even more growth in this area.

There’s also been a rise in actively managed ETFs and those based on derivatives. Popular names like NVIDIA, Tesla, and MicroStrategy are seeing leveraged single-stock ETFs gaining traction.

Private assets are on the rise too, and big asset managers are eager to offer these to regular investors. Eric thinks we might see more private asset ETFs popping up soon.

He predicts that global ETF assets could hit $35 trillion by 2035. The potential approval of ETF share classes for mutual funds could speed up this trend, as ETFs are becoming the go-to choice for many due to their tax benefits and low costs.

Some ETFs to watch this year include the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, Janus Henderson AAA CLO ETF, and Range Nuclear Renaissance Index ETF.
