Santa Fe: The Empty Stocking Fund, run by the Santa Fe Community Foundation and The Santa Fe New Mexican, has been helping locals for 43 years. Each holiday season, it provides support for rent, medical bills, utilities, and more to those in need.

To qualify, applicants must live in Rio Arriba or Santa Fe counties and show proof of identity. The fund doesn’t discriminate based on race, age, or gender identity. Right now, they’ve paused applications because they’ve received more requests than they can handle.

This year, they aimed to raise $475,000, but they’re already looking at over $500,000 in requests. If you want to help out, you can donate online or visit their offices in person. They also accept mail donations, and you can choose to stay anonymous if you prefer.

So far, generous folks have contributed nearly $391,000. Donations have come in from various people, honoring loved ones and supporting the cause. It’s heartwarming to see the community come together like this!
