The Empty Stocking Fund helps local families with essential needs during the holidays
To qualify, you need to live in Rio Arriba or Santa Fe counties and show proof of identity. They don’t discriminate based on race, age, or gender. Right now, they’ve paused applications because so many people are asking for help.
This year, they aimed to raise $475,000, but requests have already topped $500,000. The fund has been a holiday staple since 1981, making a real difference in the community.
If you want to pitch in, you can donate online at santafecf.org or visit their office. You can also mail your contribution to the Empty Stocking Fund. And if you prefer, you can choose to stay anonymous.
So far, donations have come in from various people and businesses, totaling over $401,000. Every little bit helps, and it’s great to see the community come together for a good cause.
