Bolton: This morning, drivers faced some frustrating delays on the motorway. There were a few crashes, including a significant one on the M61.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a four-vehicle collision that happened around 9:17 AM. It took place southbound between Junctions 8 and 6.

One person was taken to the hospital, but thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. Meanwhile, another incident on the M60 added to the traffic woes.

That one involved a single vehicle and occurred at about 9:06 AM at Junction 24. It was cleared up pretty quickly, but the aftermath still caused some slow-moving traffic.

All hands were on deck, with emergency services, including National Highways officers, working hard to manage the situation. They had to close two lanes for safety while they cleared the wreckage.

By 9:32 AM, the M61 was back to normal, and the M60 followed suit by 9:54 AM. Still, drivers should expect some lingering delays as things get back to usual.
