Residents in Sugar Notch face water outages due to a main break on Main Street, with repairs expected to last until noon.

Crews were out there braving the cold to fix the break. It was pretty chilly, with temperatures dropping into the mid-teens and wind chills making it feel even colder. Main Street is closed between Brook and Oak streets while they work on it.
Pennsylvania American Water sent out alerts to customers just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday, letting them know about the situation. They warned that folks might see discolored or cloudy water, or even have low water pressure or no water at all. The repairs are expected to take about eight hours, so they’re aiming to wrap things up by noon.
If you notice any discoloration, they suggest running cold water at the lowest level of your house. For cloudy water, try running it at the highest level. It should clear up in a few minutes. However, they didn’t mention if people need to boil their water once service is back on. Fingers crossed they get it all sorted out soon!
