Transit fares in Edmonton will rise starting February 1, marking the first increase since 2021
Edmonton: Starting February 1, Edmontonians will see a bump in transit fares. This is the first fare hike since February 2021, so it’s been a while.
Single-trip fares will go up from $2.75 to $3, and cash fares will rise from $3.50 to $3.75. The adult monthly fare cap is now $102, up from $100. Seniors will also see a slight increase, with their monthly cap going from $35 to $36.
Good news for youth, though! Their monthly fare cap is dropping from $73 to $66. But keep in mind, the age limit for youth fares is now 18 and under. So, if you’re 19 or older, you’ll be paying the adult fare.
And for the little ones, kids 12 and under can still ride for free, which is a nice perk.
On top of that, ETS is rolling out two new Arc multi-day pass options. You can grab a three-day pass for $24 or a five-day pass for $30. These passes let you ride as much as you want for three or five days straight after your first tap.
You’ll be able to buy these new passes at Arc vending machines in all LRT stations and at the West Edmonton Mall and Mill Woods Transit Centres starting February 1. So, if you’re planning to ride, make sure to check them out!
