Carlisle: A natural building products supplier has just hired a new sales manager. Ecological Building Systems has brought on Martyn Hornsby for the role.

Martyn will be in charge of the sales office team and will handle customer service tasks like quoting, ordering, and deliveries. He’ll also look after key accounts for various clients, including contractors and homeowners.

To do this well, he’ll need to work closely with businesses to give customers the right info. Martyn has a solid background in sales and management from his time with several high street retailers.

He even helped place staff for construction clients, including Ecological Building Systems, during his previous jobs. After meeting some of the company’s directors, he jumped at the chance to apply for the sales manager position.

Martyn completed some training provided by the company to get ready for his customer-facing role. Lorna Graham, the deputy general manager, mentioned that they’ve known Martyn for a while and he has a great track record in managing teams.

She added that with the rising demand for natural building materials, Martyn is crucial in boosting sales and improving customer experience.

Martyn himself said he’s really enjoying his new position. He works closely with key customers and the technical team to make sure all queries are handled well.

He finds it exciting to be part of a team that’s passionate about sustainable building products. Ecological Building Systems started in 2000 in County Meath, Ireland, and expanded to the UK in 2007.

Recently, they doubled their space by acquiring a new warehouse and office next to their existing facilities in Carlisle. The new location even has a showroom for self-builders and home renovators to check out their range of natural building products.
