A 20-year-old man was sentenced to eight years for crashing a U-Haul into White House gates, motivated by extremist beliefs.

He was charged after he drove the truck onto the sidewalk, causing a bit of chaos as people scrambled to get out of the way. He crashed into the barriers not once, but twice! The second hit disabled the truck, and it started smoking.
Kandula later admitted he was inspired by Nazi ideology and wanted to replace the U.S. government with a dictatorship. When he was arrested, he was even holding a Nazi flag.
He told the police he thought Hitler was a “strong leader” and had a diary in the truck with some pretty disturbing stuff. It seems he had flown from St. Louis to D.C. just for this.
The crash caused over $4,000 in damage, and the U.S. Attorney’s office took this case seriously, especially after a recent assassination attempt on Trump. They pointed out that even young people can pose a real threat, no matter how unrefined their methods might seem.
