Los Angeles: So, Drake is taking legal action against his record label, UMG. He claims they spread false rumors about him being a pedophile. This all kicked off after Kendrick Lamar dropped a diss track called “Not Like Us.”

In the song, Kendrick made some pretty harsh accusations, saying Drake “likes ’em young” and even suggested people should keep their little sisters away from him. Ouch, right?

Drake filed the lawsuit in federal court, saying UMG knew the lyrics were damaging but still promoted the track to boost their profits. He insists this isn’t about Kendrick but about UMG’s actions.

He believes UMG used the diss track to hurt his image and gain leverage in future contract talks. Drake signed a massive $400 million deal with them in 2022, so there’s a lot at stake.

He’s even claiming that UMG paid bots to artificially inflate the song’s streaming numbers, pushing it to the top of the charts. The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and broke records after its release.

Drake also mentioned that UMG played a role in getting Kendrick a Super Bowl halftime show, which he sees as another way to promote the diss track.

Things have gotten serious for Drake, too. He said the song has put his safety at risk, with attempted break-ins and shootings near his home. One incident even injured a security guard.

UMG hasn’t responded to the lawsuit yet, but they previously denied any wrongdoing. They said it’s offensive to suggest they’d undermine their own artists.
