Minneapolis: Just when Donte DiVincenzo was starting to find his groove, he got hit with an injury. The Timberwolves guard is now out indefinitely because of a left big toe injury he picked up on January 15 against the Golden State Warriors.

His foot is in a boot, and he’s set to get more opinions on how to treat it soon. An MRI showed he has a Grade 3 sprain, and the team will keep everyone updated on his recovery.

In his first season with the Timberwolves, Donte was averaging 11 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He’s usually a solid three-point shooter, but this season he’s been struggling a bit, hitting just 36.9% of his attempts.

That’s a drop from last year when he had his best season with the Knicks, averaging 15 points and shooting 40.1% from beyond the arc. He was really starting to heat up lately, averaging 17.5 points and 4.7 assists in his last six games.

Unfortunately, he missed the game against the Knicks last Friday, but the Timberwolves still managed to win, thanks to a big night from Anthony Edwards. Minnesota is currently sitting at 22-20, which puts them in eighth place in the Western Conference.

Their next game is on Monday afternoon in Memphis, with tip-off set for 2:30 p.m. ET.
