A recent AP-NORC poll shows mixed support among US adults for Trump’s agenda
Washington: So, Trump is gearing up for his second term, right? But a new poll shows he might not have as much support as he thinks. The AP-NORC survey reveals that while some of his ideas, like cutting taxes on tips, are popular, others, like pulling out of the Paris climate agreement, aren’t getting much love.
About half of adults in the US are okay with getting rid of taxes on tips, but when it comes to things like mass deportations or new tariffs, opinions get a bit shaky. Most folks don’t want to see a bunch of immigrants kicked out, especially if they haven’t done anything wrong. It’s a mixed bag, really.
And then there’s the whole pardoning thing for the January 6 participants. Only about 20% of people are on board with that idea. It seems like even some Republicans are scratching their heads over it. They’re not all in favor of pardoning those involved in the Capitol riot.
On the flip side, Trump’s plan to boost oil drilling and withdraw from climate agreements isn’t winning hearts either. About half of Americans are against pulling out of the Paris agreement again. It’s clear that while some of his ideas resonate, many others are facing serious pushback.
So, as Trump steps back into the spotlight, it looks like he’s got some convincing to do. The landscape is pretty divided, and it’ll be interesting to see how he navigates these challenges moving forward.
