Malibu: Dick Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver, are staying put in their home while fires rage nearby. They’ve got their $8 million house, and it’s still standing, which is a relief.

Arlene shared on Instagram that the guest house caught a bit of fire but nothing too serious. They’re without power, though, and have been using a gas generator to keep things running.

She’s been focused on keeping Dick warm and entertained, which sounds like a full-time job! They’re cooking and charging devices using their camper.

Even with all the wildfires, they have no plans to leave Malibu. Arlene says Dick feels more at home there, and it’s easier for her to take care of him.

She called him a “trooper” for handling everything so well. Just last month, they had to evacuate due to another fire, and it was a close call.

Luckily, neighbors helped them out during that scare. They even saved the guest house from more damage. After that, they were relieved to find their cat, Bobo, safe when they returned home.
