Washington: So, there’s this cool event happening in DC on Inauguration Day. It’s called the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear 2.0, and it’s all about having a good time. Adam Eidinger, a well-known activist, is leading the charge.

The rally runs from 9 AM to 4:20 PM at Dupont Circle. Expect DJs, spoken word performances, and even a giveaway of edibles. Eidinger wants everyone to come as they are—whether in colorful costumes or just rolled out of bed. He’s all about that laid-back vibe, saying, “We encourage people to take edibles and come.”

Eidinger hopes this rally will be a fun escape for folks feeling stressed about the new Trump administration. He’s got a funny take on it: “Don’t scream into your pillow at home alone. Come scream in a pillow in public!”

At 11 AM, a small group will head over to watch the actual inauguration. Right now, there are under a hundred RSVPs, but Eidinger thinks more people will show up once they see the fun happening.

The event’s name is a nod to the famous 2010 rally by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. If Comedy Central gets upset, Eidinger has a backup name ready: “The Sinauguration Part 1.” He feels it reflects the mood about Trump’s election.

This isn’t Eidinger’s first time countering Trump. Back in 2017, he and his group gave away thousands of joints during Trump’s inauguration. When asked about future plans, he’s taking a wait-and-see approach, saying he’ll give Trump 100 days before deciding what to focus on as a DC resident.
