Local chefs in DC are raising funds to support those affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

One standout event is a benefit dinner on January 16, hosted by chefs Kat Petonito and Rochelle Cooper. They’ve gathered a group of well-known DC chefs, like Suresh Sundas and Amy Brandwein, to cook for a cause. The money raised will go to José Andrés’s World Central Kitchen, which is providing meals to those affected. Tickets are $175, but it looks like they’re already sold out.
Chef Isabel Coss is also getting in on the action with a raffle for World Central Kitchen. You can enter until January 19 for a chance to win a YETI cooler and some cool merch. The winner will be announced live on Instagram.
On January 19, YELLOW Cafe will sell a special dish, with all profits going to the LA Fire Department Foundation. Plus, Slice & Pie is donating a portion of its sales all month to help deliver pizzas to evacuation centers.
Chef Paola Velez is hosting a raffle for a private cooking demo, asking participants to donate to GoFundMe pages for Black families affected by the fires. The winner will be picked on February 5.
Lastly, Chef Kevin Tien will hold a benefit dinner on February 9 to support wildfire victims in Altadena and Koreatown. It’s great to see so many chefs coming together to make a difference during this tough time.
