Dayton: A heartbreaking situation unfolded in Dayton when a man and woman were found dead in a home. The coroner confirmed it was a murder-suicide.

Emily Stovall, just 23, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Jacob Osterhaus, 25, also died at the scene, and his death was ruled a suicide.

This all happened on November 7, when police and medics rushed to the 1600 block of Russet Avenue after reports of gunfire.

Neighbors heard the shots and described the chaos. One neighbor, Debbie Owen, recalled a man shouting, “You shot her! You shot her!” while another man was yelling from the house.

The police cordoned off the area to investigate. Some neighbors mentioned there were others in the house during the shooting, but police couldn’t confirm that.

Owen also saw a man walking down the street with a small child, which added to the tension of the scene. Homicide detectives were called in, but the police haven’t figured out what led to this tragic event.

Maj. Jason Hall from Dayton police stated they weren’t looking for any suspects and believed everyone involved was accounted for.

Stovall’s family is now caring for her four-year-old son, which adds another layer of sadness to this already tragic story.
