Dak Prescott expressed disappointment over Mike McCarthy’s exit, highlighting their bond and the team’s struggles this season.

Prescott shared his feelings with ALL DALLAS reporter Clarence Hill, saying he was “bummed” about McCarthy’s departure. He acknowledged their efforts together and expressed disappointment over the contract situation.
He called McCarthy “a great coach and hell of a man,” taking some responsibility for the team’s struggles. This past season was tough, with injuries and a disappointing 7-10 record. Prescott had hoped McCarthy would stay, especially after his own injury in Week 9.
In December, he mentioned feeling helpless about McCarthy’s situation, emphasizing his belief in the coach. Prescott wanted McCarthy to have another chance to lead the team, saying he deserved more influence.
Despite making the playoffs for three consecutive years, the Cowboys only won one playoff game under McCarthy. Owner Jerry Jones has been clear about wanting a championship, which the team hasn’t achieved since 1995.
After a review of the season, Jones and McCarthy mutually agreed it was time to part ways. Former Cowboy Deion Sanders and ex-tight end Jason Witten have been mentioned as potential candidates for the head coach position.
