The Colorado women’s basketball team lost to Cincinnati 65-59, struggling in the final minutes despite a strong start.
Cincinnati outscored them 32-14 after that, which was a real bummer. Jade Masogayo led the Buffs with 16 points, but they just couldn’t make the plays when it mattered.
Coach JR Payne was proud of the effort compared to their last game but noted they struggled with fouls and rebounding. Cincinnati took advantage, getting to the free throw line way more often.
Even though Cincinnati shot poorly overall, they made up for it by grabbing a ton of offensive rebounds and scoring second-chance points. Tineya Hylton was a standout for them, scoring 27 points, especially in the clutch moments.
The Buffs had a chance to win but couldn’t close it out. They’ll need to regroup before facing No. 11 Kansas State next. It’s been a rough stretch on the road for them, and they’ll be looking to turn things around soon.
